Prime Minister Prachanda Commends Radio Sagarmatha on Its 28th Anniversary, Reaffirms Support for Independent Community Radio

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting and sustaining independent community radio. In his message of best wishes on the occasion of Radio Sagarmatha’s 28th anniversary, the Prime Minister lauded the station for its significant role in advancing community broadcasting services.

Radio Sagarmatha, operated by the Nepal Forum of Environment Journalists (NEFEJ), is the first independent and community radio station in South Asia. The Prime Minister highlighted its pivotal contributions to information dissemination and community service, stating, “I am pleased to hear that Radio Sagarmatha FM 102.4 MHz is observing its 28th anniversary today (Jestha 9). It has played a leading role in the development of community transmission service and has contributed to information dissemination.”
